The area of the Old Town overlaps with the contemporary town centre of Maszewo with Wojska Polskiego and Głowackiego Streets.
The buildings in the town date back to the thirteenth century. The Old Town features a few historical objects. These include urban fortifications, town hall, post office at 9 Wojska Polskiego Street, the residential building with a tower at 5 Głowackiego Street, and the residential building at 13 Wojska Polskiego Street. The majority of the historical buildings in Maszewo were built in the nineteenth century. The town hall was built in 1821-1822, while the courtyard was built in 1855. At the time, Maszewo had its streets cobbled and was provided with street lamps and the buildings were given numbers. The town’s architecture suffered considerable damage during the Second World War.
